The L Word: Generation Q (2019)

Ten years after we last left them, we find Bette running for mayor of Los Angeles; Shane as she returns to the city after a setback; and Alice learning to balance co-parenting with her fiancée Nat and Nat’s ex-wife Gigi and the rising success of her talk show. We meet PR exec Dani Núñez, her girlfriend and TV producer Sophie Suarez, their best friend and roommate Micah Lee, and the charming former Olympic swimmer-turned-assistant, (Sarah) Finley.

Bette weathers continued fallout as she prepares for an LGBTQIA Center talk. Shane helps Finley, while Alice is annoyed when the network forces her to bring on a new staff member. Dani and Sophie celebrate good news as Dani begins a new job. Micah pursues a new crush.

Bette prepares for an important mayoral debate. Alice lands a huge guest and encourages Nat to branch out. Shane visits a bar and gets embroiled in the lives of two of its employees. Dani and Sophie's families clash, Micah is unsure of where he stands with his crush, and a budding relationship forces Finley to confront some complicated aspects of her past.

Dani is forced to get involved in Bette’s personal life, Shane grapples with a big decision, Alice is profiled by a newspaper, Sophie worries that Dani is pulling back, Finley struggles with her growing feelings for Rebecca, and Micah still doesn't know where things stand with José.

Bette feels guilty about lying to Angie; some unexpected news throws Shane for a major loop. Alice, Gigi and Nat find common ground. Dani and Sophie deal with a bombshell dropped on them by Dani's father. Finley bonds with Tess and Micah grows closer to José.

Bette and Dani reckon with the fallout of a recent scandal. Shane spends the day with Angie. Alice, Gigi, and Nat have conflicting ideas about their family life. Sophie and Finley spend a raucous night out in an effort to get their mind off of things.

Bette is conflicted about old feelings, Shane is tested by her relationship with Quiara, and Alice gets blindsided at home and work. Meanwhile, with Dani busy with the election, Sophie feels relieved to have Finley around. Micah introduces José to his mother.

Tensions run high on election night as Bette and Dani await the results, Shane and Quiara go through their most difficult challenge yet, and Alice takes a big swing on her show. Meanwhile, Sophie and Dani consider another big step in their relationship, Finley is forced to stop running from her past and confront her feelings, and Micah is dealt an unexpected bombshell about José. Meanwhile, Sophie, Dani and Finley are all left to deal with the fallout of a shocking event as Micah grapples with the true nature of his relationship with José.

Bette’s passion is ignited at work while Angie receives some big news that complicates things at home. Shane and Tess’s business venture doesn’t go as planned and Alice resists facing the truth of her situation with Nat. Meanwhile, Finley, Sophie and Dani all struggle to adjust to their new normal as Micah leans on Maribel for support when he starts a new job.

Bette goes on a mission to find and win over revered artist Pippa Pascal as Angie learns more about her donor. Shane’s relationship with Tess continues to deepen; Alice is pushed by Tom to get in touch with her emotions. Meanwhile, Sophie, Finley and Micah are all affected by the way Dani chooses to deal with the fallout of Rodolfo’s actions.

Bette, Tina and Carrie are all forced together to support Angie. Shane is shocked when someone from her past re-enters her life. Alice and Tom question what they are to each other now that her book is finished. Meanwhile, Dani pushes Rodolfo to come clean with her; Sophie’s new assignment at work allows her to see her relationships in a different light; Finley must face some harsh truths in her personal life; and Micah’s friendship with Maribel continues to evolve.

During an explosive karaoke night at Dana’s, Bette is pushed to be honest about what she really wants, Shane deals with the fallout from an ex’s visit and Alice confronts her true feelings for Tom. Meanwhile, everything left unsaid among Sophie, Dani and Finley threatens to finally come out and Micah struggles to figure out where he stands with Maribel.

Bette takes a big swing with Pippa, Shane leans on Tess when she’s suddenly forced to harbor a secret, and Alice’s run-in with someone from her past throws her for a loop. Meanwhile, Dani must examine what’s holding her back in her personal life as Sophie is pushed to question Finley’s maturity and Angie worries that things have taken a turn between her and Jordi.

A fallout occurs between Bette and Dani. Shane confronts her feelings for Tess.

Tensions rise between Bette, Tina and Angie on the day Angie’s set to meet her donor; Shane struggles with a secret. Alice questions how open she should be about her personal life during her press tour. Meanwhile, Sophie is forced to confront some harsh realities about Finley. Dani’s personal and professional life are both thrown into further turmoil by what’s happening at Nùñez Inc. Micah navigates his changing relationship with Maribel during a visit with her family.

Bette is forced to make a huge decision as Tina and Carrie’s wedding quickly approaches; Shane and Tess reach a crossroad in their relationship; and the release of Alice’s book has a ripple effect on her personal life. Meanwhile, things between Sophie and Finley reach a potential breaking point; Dani finally has to decide once and for all whether to defend her father; and Angie grapples with the outcome of what happened with her donor.

Bette and Tina struggle to reconcile their past and future selves as Angie is dealt a shocking blow on her first day of college. Meanwhile, Shane adjusts to a domestic life with Tess, and Alice questions what she wants in a partner. At the bungalow, Finley returns from rehab and works to pick up the pieces of the life she left behind with Sophie, while Dani and Micah take big swings with Gigi and Maribel.

Bette and Shane break new ground with Tina and Tess, respectively, but old habits come back to bite them. Sparks fly with Alice’s latest prospect until an unexpected revelation, while Angie heals her heartbreak with a new flame. Meanwhile, Finley competes for Maribel's favor until Maribel drops a bomb about Sophie that threatens to tear them apart, and Dani puts hurt feelings aside for Gigi, but is it too late? 

Alice leverages her 100th episode as an opportunity to find “The One” with help from a special appearance from guest host Margaret Cho. Dani cares for Gigi until old wounds drive them apart. Meanwhile, Shane competes for Tess’s attention. Finley and Carrie make big moves, while Angie discovers a troubling revelation about her new flame.

Micah finds a queer role model with a familiar face, while a new face comes to town and helps Dani and Sophie break out of their funk. Meanwhile, Alice tests the waters of her new relationship, until scary movie night becomes a little too scary. Shocking truths come to light when the masks come off.

Tensions run high as Alice and Tess uncover the lies in their relationships and awkward circumstances leave Shane with nowhere to run. Dani lives her romcom fantasy with a sexy stranger until she discovers some serious baggage that threatens Sophie and Finley’s newfound trust. Meanwhile, Micah and Maribel struggle to take the first step into parenthood as Angie helps her roommate through a sticky situation.

Alice wonders whether someone from her past could be "The One." Dani tries to hide her true feelings and keep things professional with Dre while Angie confronts a hard truth in order to take the next step with Hendrix. Sophie jeopardizes Micah and Maribel's chance at parenthood. Finley channels all of her energy into being Carrie's wingman.

Chosen families come together at Thanksgiving when an unwelcome visitor brings Finley to her breaking point. Sophie realizes the price of her indecisiveness, while Maribel plans a grand gesture for Micah, and Carrie lets her true feelings slip. Across town, Dani kicks back for a solo holiday until unexpected circumstances push her and Dre closer and Shane and Angie volunteer together when a surprise sighting forces them to confront Angie’s feelings.

Alice’s past mistakes blow up in her face, forcing Sophie and Dani to pick up the pieces. Shane drops a bombshell at Angie’s class reading. Meanwhile, Finley helps Carrie seduce Misty, but can Carrie check her baggage and get the girl?

Shane and Sophie challenge old patterns, while Alice discovers "The One" may be closer than she thinks. Dani distracts herself from Dre, until a surprising reveal force her to choose what she really wants. Micah and Maribel make moves toward becoming parents, while Finley takes a big step into adulthood as all of the season’s love, lust, loss, laughs and longing come to a head.
